Transforming Undergraduate Education initiative
 

Mission: The UT System is funding innovative projects exploring transformational change in undergraduate education. In an effort to address new approaches to higher education and meet the needs of a new generation of students, three areas of research are emphasized:

1. Increasing access
2. Reducing costs while maintaining quality
3. Utilizing new technologies

Purpose: To stimulate creative approaches to instruction that increases student access and success while being cost-efficient or reducing instructional costs. Areas of research:

- Pedagogy - success rates
- Materials - tools that address new learning styles
- Technologies - that will support instructional innovations
- Learning spaces - redesign & alternatives to conventional classrooms
